Golf - Bert Bourner Jug

I am pleased to announce we have now booked this year's Bourner Jug on the 26th September 2024 to be held once again at Croham Hurst Golf Club -We will be reverting back to having dinner at the Golf Club after play to maximise the time we can spend with each other and minimise the fuss.Please let me know by reply if you would like to enter the year's most prestigious golfing event, including your latest handicaps please.Please do pass on the invitation to any other OW's that might be interested in joining us that may not have been involved before.The entry fee is £80 which will include the following:
- Registration Services from Mr Clive Peckover
- The opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win top, top prizes
- Coffee/Tea and Bacon Rolls
- 18 holes of challenging, high pressure golf
- Three Course Meal minus the desert
- Trophy presentation to the victorious - 1st, 2nd and 3rd places
- Trophies for Nearest the Pin, Longest Drive and perhaps the "special" golfer!
- There will also be a Trophy for the best guest
- Great company all day and lots of fun
We have a two tee start from 12 o'clock so this will hopefully mean no more than an hour or so between first and last groups teeing off.It has been a pleasure to organise this event over the years - I think our first year was 2009 when there were only 30 entrants so it has been great to watch the interest and enjoyment grow and evolve to what it is today. I will be handing the Bourner Jug reins over next year to my young apprentice Andrew Parkinson (young might be a stretch as no-one really knows how old he is!). Please do stick your hand up if you would like to join the "management committee" for future events, your fresh input would be invaluable!I very much hope as many of you as possible can make it this year - and for those that maybe can't make the golf day, you would be very welcome to join us for dinners in the evening.Please confirm your place as soon as you can and transfer entry fees.
