OWFC Junior Football
Our Philosophy
Old Wilsonian's F.C. Junior Section was established in 2014 to provide high quality football coaching and playing facilities to the local community.
Our philosophy is one of fun and inclusivity with the aim of developing each players' technical, tactical, mental and physical abilities.
Our History
Since 1959 Wilson's School have hosted a sports and social club in Hayes Kent. Over the years our location at the top of Hayes Hill has become the focal point for ex pupils and their families. More recently the Old Wilsonian's facilities have opened their doors to the local community and the Junior Football Section in particular have established ourselves as one of the most welcoming and well run in the area. In 2014 we started with just 3 junior teams and have grown to over 45 teams between the ages of 7 -18.
Aims and Objectives
Our philiosophy says it all, we are here to provide an opportunity for the children in our local community. We are very much aligned with the views of the English FA when it comes to grass roots community football.
We are proud to announce that Old Wilsonians have been awarded the prestigious FA 3-Star Accreditation.
It is estimated that only 8% of grassroots clubs across the country hold this accolade, making this a fantastic achievement for everyone involved at the club.
This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and commitment shown by all those connected with our junior football section. It also reinforces our continued commitment to providing football for all, while staying true to the values and ethos that define Old Wilsonians.
The FA 3-Star Accreditation is the highest standard within the England Football Accreditation scheme, recognising clubs that are inclusive, well-run, and thriving within their community.
To achieve this status, clubs must demonstrate:
• Complete playing pathways across male, female, and disability football
• High coaching and safeguarding standards
• Strong club governance and volunteer support
Every player and parent signs up to the FA code of conduct which is focused on respect, honesty and fair play. In order to be an inclusive club, we need to ensure that players of varying ability get to play in an environment that allows them to progress. That means that each age group tends to have one team in a higher division with the others hot on their heels, full reviews of all teams are conducted at he end of each season to ensure all players continue their footballing journey in a team of similar ability.
Teams and Age Groups
As a nod to the tradition and heritage of the club, all our Junior Section teams are named after new or old house names from the school or those who have contributed to the development of the junior section. This serves to support our values as a family club and gives our players, parents, coaches and the community a strong link with our wonderful history.
We have teams competing in both the KYL and Tandridge league with teams at all age ranges from U7 to U18 in addition we have a well established Girls Only section with teams in all age groups from U9 to U18 competing in the Tandride and Kent Girls/Ladies League
If your child is just starting out we also have a Minis section for both boys & girls from Age 4-7 - See our Pay And You Play section
