Natwest Clubforce Weekend
Posted 7th March 2016

This is a reminder that our annual work weekend is scheduled for Friday 22 April to Sunday 24 April 2016.
We are looking for volunteers to offer some of their time – even a half-day is valuable – to give something back to the club. You can just turn up but it helps planning the work to know who is coming. Please add your name to the list of volunteers which are already on the notice boards in the club hut and pavilion. Alternatively let us know by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, stating which morning/afternoon/days you would be available.
THE COURTS WILL BE UNAVAILABLE FOR ALL OF SATURDAY 23rd AS WE PLAN TO REPLACE THE FLOODLIGHT BULBS, MEND NETS, CLEAR LEAVES, DEAL WITH MOSS ETC – AND WHILST THE COURTS MIGHT BE ACCESSIBLE ON FRIDAY 24TH IT WOULD BE HELPFUL IF ANYONE WISHING TO PLAY ON THAT DAY ALSO HELPED OUT FOR A FEW HOURS.
There are many jobs to be done, including re-touching the paintwork in the pavilion, helping to attach the perimeter netting to the straining wires (where we will hopefully have specialist help from Nick Fuller), tidying both the club hut and the pavilion as well as larger jobs like replacing the floodlight bulbs.
As usual, skills will be deployed where they are most needed. That means we will get specialist help from other sports sections of the club where we need it, and may be asked to work on their jobs in return too. This is a great opportunity to meet people from some of the other sports clubs, and is usually thoroughly enjoyable even though lots of great work is done. Bacon sandwiches and liberal amount of tea are usually available.
