The wet weather played havoc with pitches all across the league. This left most teams waiting to play their first game of 2016, with only the 1s, 2s and 5s games going ahead.

Unfortunately the 1s defence of the AFA Cup has ended, as they were beaten 3-1 at Hayes by Old Owens. Dan Sellman grabbed OWFC’s only goal, taking his personal tally of the season to 8. The result leaves the 1s looking elsewhere for silverware this season, and the hunt continues on Monday night under the floodlights away at Abbey Rangers. Please come along and support, the match kicks off at 7.45pm

Elsewhere the 2s defeated local rivals West Wickham 2-1. J. James Karamath’s 15th goal of the season gave OWFC the lead and Jack Cowell doubled the lead before half time. West Wickham pulled one back in the second half but the 2s held on for victory.

The only other fixture saw the 5s get knocked out the AFA Cup, going down 4-2 away to Polytechnic 5s. It was a good effort as Poly currently sit above our 4s in league above. Johnny Q got both the goals and now has 6 for the season.

And finally…if anybody knows the location of the new blue and black away kit (see attached photo) please urgently get in touch with the club. It has gone missing and despite many hours of searching the club store room it has not been found. If you have any information please let Stu Paton know – stup62@aol.com
