Old Wilsonian's Golf Society -Bourner Jug 2018
26th April 2018 to 26th April 2018
Good evening Gents,
You will be pleased to hear I have finalised plans for the Bourner Jug 2018. We are booked in for a two tee start with a nice leisurely mid-morning meet on Thursday 26th April returning to Banstead Downs Golf Club.
Your current champion Ben Cook is dreaming of being the first to retain the title but I am sure we can arrange for a little handicap fiddling to fix that problem!
I very much hope to see you all again this year for one of the most enjoyable and drunken days in the calendar.
Entry will cost the usual £60 per person for which you will receive a thoroughly enjoyable day with old friends and......:
Coffee and bacon rolls
Short game and putting lessons with the pros
18 holes of inland links golf
Beat the pro on the 17th par 3
Three course meal
Trophies - well some of you will
There will also be over £600 worth of raffle prizes up for grabs and of course the old Wilsonian bookies will also be on hand for you to have a flutter on yourself or someone else if you want to hedge your bets a little.
As I am sure the vast majority of you will be aware, sadly we have lost one of our organising committee recently, an incredible Old Wilsonian, fund raiser, family man and a very dear friend to us all in the shape of Mr Ian Forbes. Ian has done so much for the old boys but rather poignantly had never picked up a golf club let alone played, yet Ian readily gave up his time and effort every year for our annual golf event and will be a sorely missed this year and years to come. I am determined to make this years event a huge success again in Ian’s honour and I am pleased to announce we have fittingly secured the services of Mr Alex Forbes to pick up the baton.
I really hope to see as many of you again this year as possible so please confirm your place by reply furnishing me with updates on handicaps where appropriate ( email@example.com ) and sending you £60 entry fees to me to the usual details below (please ensure you make reference to your name on payments)
