Orpington 176 all out versus Old Wilsonians 1st XI 202 for 8 - Old Wilsonians win by 26 Runs!
A first wicket stand of 102 between Velson Devarajulu (54) and Malinda Thotiwilage (70) laid a solid foundation for Old Wilsonians to build on but, and thanks to some tight bowling from Orpington, they only managed another hundred runs and their innings finished on 202 for 8. In reply Orpington were struggling at 68 for 3 but a fourth wicket stand of 64 between Richard de Mel (83) and Mike Knight (32) put them back on track, but the latter’s dismissal caused a clatter of wickets and when de Mel was seventh out with the score on 160 their hopes of victory receded considerably. And so it proved for, 16 runs later, the OWs, for whom Matthew Abbett finished with an impressive 3 for 16, were celebrating a 26 run victory. With four games of the season left the two sides are locked together in mid-table and one win each should guarantee that this fixture will be repeated next season. View scorecard
Old Wilsonians. 2nd Xl 147, Orpington 2nd Xl 149 for 8 - Orpington win by 2 wickets!
Old Wilsonians’ 2nd Xl made the fundamental error of not using all of their overs in this game against Orpington as the latter bowled them out in just 43 of their allotted 50, Andy Alcock taking the bowling honours to finish with 5 for 24 as only Nick Morley (27), Kenny Maxwell (29) and Jacob Gold (21) attempted to threaten his match winning spell. The OWs used eight bowlers in their attempt to defend a low score and it nearly worked as they captured eight wickets and had Orpington struggling on 73 for 5 at one point. However, a sixth wicket stand of 60 between Jack Morrow (30 n.o) and George Fuller (36) swung the game back their way and although they lost two further wickets they got home with over six overs to spare.View scorecard
Old Wilsonians’ 3rd Xl 174 for 9, Sidcup 3rd Xl 147 for 9 - Old Wilsonians win by 27 runs!
Facing a total of 174 for 9, Sidcup 3rd Xl fell 27 runs short of the target set them by their Old Wilsonian counterparts. Batting first the OWs were indebted to Danny Phillips (74 n.o) for more than half of their runs with only Rob McEwen (23) and Kevin Carruthers (28 n,o) making any other significant contributions, with the latter and Phillips sharing in an unbroken stand of 63 for the eighth wicket which was to prove crucial. Sidcup’s reply was more of a team effort, Laurence Janes (26), Christopher Webb (28) and Hasan Rahij (24 n,o) all looking to win the game for their side, but they did not have anyone to play a major innings, hence their failure to achieve the target set.View scorecard

However a clutter of wickets following their respective dismissals inspired another rescue act, this time by Dean Kesto (25) and Llyod Libin (30 n,o) but it was not enough to prevent an OW victory, the latter’s James Sellar finishing with 3 for 38
Earlier the visitors had relied heavily on Neil Treacher (46), Laki Kasturiratne (39) and Jeff Mascarenhas (35) for the majority of their runs.View scorecard
