Broadstairs 300 for 3, Old Wilsonians 1st XI 216 – Old Wilsonians win by 84 Runs!
A second wicket stand of 148 between Elliot Fox (144 n.o) and Matthew Frewin (64) laid the perfect foundation for Broadstairs to accelerate and when Swaroop Dasari (59) joined Fox they added a further 130 and the home side finished on an impressive 300 for 3 Despite the dominance of the bat Old Wilsonians had contained the run rate and after 42 overs Broadstairs were 186 for 2. However, they then hit 114 runs from the last eight overs , a combination of aggressive batting and, it has to be said, poor (buffet) bowling The OWs started well and were 101 for 1 after 16 overs and on course for victory but after Jonathan Rodda (32), Velsen Devarajulu (33) and Malinda Thotiwilage (29) were back in the pavilion they lost three further wickets cheaply and it was left to Chris Scott (31) and Josh Lawrence (25) to restore some respectability with a seventh wicket stand of 60, after which Dave Ellicott-White (22) ensured they passed the 200 mark The wickets were shared amongst the Broadstairs bowlers, who steered their side to a comfortable 84 run victory, but it was their batsmen who had made this possible.View Scorecard

Shooters Hill 3rd Xl 153 for 8, Old Wilsonians’ 5th Xl 154 for 8 – Old Wilsonians win by 2 wickets
Despite losing their first three wickets for only six runs Old Wilsonians’ 5th Xl recovered well to achieve a narrow two wicket victory over Shooters Hill 3rd Xl, thanks mainly to Stan Sherlock (55), Ian Wellman (44) and a late but vital 24 not out from skipper Alex Forbes following another collapse which had seen them slump to 89 for 6. Arry Nelson had inflicted most of the early damage and he went on to finish with 4 for 24 to be the pick of the host’s bowlers Earlier Shooters Hill had been indebted to Luke Gilham (24) and Tom Foster (38) for putting them in a strong position but they failed to convert this into a big score as the OW bowlers struck back and restricted them to a manageable total, as the result indicates.View scorecard
