Old Wilsonians 1st XI 73 for 2 versus Gore Court 1st XI - 72 All Out - Old Wilsonians win by 8 wickets!
Some devastating seam bowling from Jordan Thomas and Guy Hannah saw Gore Court reduced to 4 for 4 after 13 balls, and although skipper Adeel Hussein (25) did his best to stem the tide he could not prevent his side from being dismissed for 72 in 32 overs. Thomas finished with 3 for 8 and Hannah, 2 for 21, whilst Michael Mitchell and Dave Ellicott-White also had a profitable afternoon, finishing with 3 for 18 and 2 for 3 respectively. Gore Court’s only hope was by starting as their hosts and done and taking early wickets, which they did to a certain degree by reducing the OWs to 25 for 2, but all this served to do was to enable Matt Abbett to hit a blistering 40 not out, including 4 sixes and 3 fours and, 38 balls after his arrival, the game was all over! However all was not lost as Andrew Steel (39 n.o) and Joe Jukes (6) showed some spirited determination which had Dartfordians sweating, but they eventually got home by 20 runs, Michael Barnshaw finishing with 4 for 51 and Kieran Jones 3 for 16.View Scorecard
