Dulwich Friendly XI 186 for 3 Versus Old Wilsonians 3/4/5th XI Combined 185 for 5 - Dulwich win by 7 wickets!
A third wicket stand of 114 between J. Rutherford (69) and M Balch (58 n.o) took Dulwich to the brink of victory in this game against Old Wilsonians and they scored the remaining seven runs required with three balls left to record a comfortable seven wicket victory. The OWs took an early wicket but Rurherford and opener A. Reeves (37) then restored the balance before that match winning partnership. The OWs also lost early wickets, three of them, and were then indebted to a substantial partnership of their own - 82 between Jason James (95 n.o) and Laurence Allen (20) before James found a second willing accomplice, Howard Abbett (23), who added a further 59 for the fifth wicket to set a challenging total off 35 overs that was ultimately chased down.
Kent U19 T20 Finals Day - Bromley U19 152 for 6 Versus Old Wilsonians U19 148 for 7 - Bromley win by 4 runs!
Exactly 300 runs were scored in this 20/20 Cup encounter , and credit to both sides for providing this entertaining game to conclude the 2017 season in front of a decent crowd at Bexley CC with at least 30 OWs members coming to support! Batting first Bromley were indebted to Amir Raza (38), Sam Smith (31) and Jonty Logan (37) for the majority of their runs, with none of the OW bowlers being able to make any in-roads. However, this is the nature of 20/20 cricket and the OWs set about their task in a positive manner, with Dan Seston (20), Josh Lawrence (45) and Tom Cornish (34) serving them well, and it was no disgrace to fall just short of their target with Lawrence narrowly missing out on securing a win as he was caught on the boundary off the final ball of the innings. Congratulations to Bromley for holding their nerve to claim a four run victory.View Scorecard
